VIDEO BACKUP SYSTEM

The Video Backup System isa cheap and reliable hardware interface plus
backup software, which enables you to connect any video recorder to
your Amiga and use this VCR as a backup storage device.

As many as 200 Amiga floppy disks will fit on a 4-hour tape (E-240).
When used for hard disk backup, there's room for 175MB of data on the
same size tape.
KEY FEATURES OF THE VIDEO BACKUP SYSTEM:-

- Ability to backup a complete disk in 1 minute. Restored in
same time, even to an unformatted disk.
- Hard disk backup: the software allows you to specify which
files and directories are to be stored. Full or partial restore to
any path. Performance about 800KBytes per minute.
- Recommended media: High Grade video tapes, about 4. Low cost
storage, around 2 pence per MegaByte!!
- The software has an intuition menu-driven graphical user
interface. Hard disk backup look and feel similar to PC-Backup's
(from PC-Tools for IBM-compatibles).
- Control Monitor connection which allows you to switch your
monitor screen between Amiga signal and VCR signal, you can watch
Neighbours as a bonus!!.
- Very high reliability on High Grade tapes. Effective
error-correction scheme ensures that a Video Backup is even more
reliable than the usual backup on floppy disks.
- Log Files: The VBS software (VBS = Video Backup System)
automatically maintains these files, which contain title and counter
position of every backup.
- Video Connection Check: VBS itself checks whether the
hardware is hooked up right. This ensures fool-proof operation.
- Easy-to-understand manual. Attractive full-colour packaging,
which makes it worth buying on its own!!
This product is targeted at both floppy and hard disk users. Floppy
users can store large games and public domain collections on one
tape, and hard disk users can make their safety backups with it.

I've seen about 5 of these for sale in a local paper during the last
week for about 20 quid. Why, I don't know. Maybe because they can't use
it properly or their VCR is crap. Either way, it's a lot cheaper
